The Volkswagen Touran is an exceptional MPV. The best MPV in fact, if you believe what What Car? have to say. They awarded the Touran the Best MPV award in 2018 and 2017 - and you can’t be wrong twice. Why’s it so good? It drives like a Golf, offers more space than you can throw your shopping bags at and comes loaded with useful features. Features like front and rear parking sensors and Adaptive Cruise Control. The Touran’s also a 7-seater, making it a ‘full fat’ MPV without the dreary drive that usually comes with that moniker. The best MPV? You’ve found it. Now go drive it.
Family motoring doesn’t have to be bland. The Volkswagen Touran’s elegant body, planted stance, roof bars and alloy wheels give it a touch of class. The R-Line looks best though with 18-inch alloys and 'R-line' front and rear bumpers.
Extra comfortable. Extra spacious. And yet, the Touran is great to drive. It feels just like a Golf, with agile handling, a short turning circle and perfect refinement. It’s safe too, having been awarded the maximum 5-star Euro NCAP rating.
Run it as a 7 or 5-seater. The rear and middle rows fold completely flat, giving you a staggering load volume of 1,857-litres. With 7 seats in place you still have a very usable 137-litres of space, which is enough for at least a few bags.
Living with it
The Touran is affordable to run with a choice of TSI petrol or TDI diesel power to suit your mileage. Choose the DSG for smooth motoring, and the SE trim or above to bag yourself front and rear parking sensors and ACC as standard.
