New Volkswagen ID.BuzzThe VW ID. Buzz is a revolution for electrification, ushering in a new era of electrified Volkswagen vans. It’s built on the modular MEB platform, which enables different battery and body configurations to create electric vehicles for every need, including commercial vehicles like an electric panel van and recreational vehicles like an MPV and camper van. It’s built for the future and brimming with clever ideas.
The ID. Buzz Cargo van and Buzz Camper van will be launched in 2022, with 100% electric power from a range of battery options from 48kWh to 111kWh. Rear-wheel drive and all-wheel drive will be available in select configurations. Range and charge speeds are to follow but expect to see charge speeds up to 150kW and over 300-miles of range, as well as Level 3 and Level 4 autonomous driving technology.
The ID. Buzz is based on the modular electric drive kit (MEB) platform, which provides a powertrain and chassis for multiple configurations. Known future models include a panel van for fleets and a camper van for family holidays.
The ID. Buzz is 100% electric with a range of battery options. The entry-level 48kWh battery charges from 5-80% in 15 minutes at a 150kW charging station. New technologies like an AR head-up display and intelligent LED headlights will be offered.
The ID. Buzz is designed to accommodate multiple bodies and configurations, including panel vans, passenger vans and camper vans. The wheelbase can be extended, and the roof height is configurable, unlocking a range of possibilities.
Living with it
